HONEYFEST SAN DIEGO 2012 BENEFITS GROW STRONG

HONEYFEST SAN DIEGO SUPPORTS THE EFFORTS OF SMALL-SCALE BEEKEEPERS IN SAN DIEGO AND KENYA.

By Participating in the Honeyfest San Diego events, you enable Grow Strong to work alongside local farmers and beekeepers to produce more local food for households, communities, and schools as a part of a healthier, sustainable and just world.

Over the past year, Grow Strong has been fundraising as part of a $20,000 goal to establish a community food hub in rural Kenya beginning with the Grow Strong Learning Center and Demonstration Farm.

With each milestone, Grow Strong can reach achieve:

$9,000	Build renovations and office established with volunteers for 2012
$12,000	Furnish classroom facility and upgrade beekeeping and processing equipment
$15,000	Develop outdoor learning and demonstration farm
$18,000	Organize special events, educational opportunities and community exchange
$20,000	Establish seed library and document vital traditional knowledge
